FAQs

Q?

What should I do if I have been contacted by the media?

A.

We advise you not to say anything until you have spoken to a media consultant. Call us for some no-obligation advice. We are always happy to initially offer a free consultation. We will be able to quickly advise you of the right path.

Q?

How can I be sure that my information will be treated in confidence?

A.

JHA prides itself on offering a completely confidential service. We are more than happy to supply our own non-disclosure agreement or sign confidentiality agreements drawn up by businesses or individuals.

Q?

Can I reveal information to the media anonymously?

A.

The simple answer is yes. JHA specialises in dealing whistleblowers who want to retain their anonymity. We help people expose stories in the media without revealing their identity. If we feel there is a chance a story will lead back to the 'source' we will advise them of such. We often involve lawyers in more complicated cases at no cost to the client.

Q?

How much do you charge for your service?

A.

JHA charges businesses or private clients on a case-to-case basis, depending chiefly on how much time is required. For those selling stories we either agree a percentage up front or get paid by the publication or broadcaster on top.

Q?

Why should I not approach the media directly to sell a story?

A.

We offer our clients very real protection. A publication or broadcaster is unlikely to want to maintain a long-term relationship with a member of the public but because they want to keep us happy it means that you can sell your story safely through JHA. We also know how best to sell your story and set up a strategy to maximise the possibilities.

Q?

How soon before a upcoming event should I approach JHA for advice?

A.

The sooner JHA is approached for help the better. In cases requiring reputation management the more time JHA has to prevent problems arising the better. Businesses and individuals worried about an upcoming potential problem should contact us as soon as possible. Similarly, if you are looking for publicity it is best to give us plenty of notice so we can set a plan in place.

Q?

Why is JHA also involved in non-media projects?

A.

Through our dealings we operate for a wide range of clients in different fields. Inevitably it has evolved that we are in a position to introduce people from a wide variety of industries to help them get on in business.
